Victoria started drawing caricatures in Army Basic Training, Ft.Jackson, SC - for purposes of survival. Actually she got caught drawing the instructor in the middle of a class on the nomenclature of the M-16... and after 60 pushups, was put to the task of drawing each of the command personnel at the unit - Delta Co, 2nd Batallion. The pictures saved her skin. Seems like all of us like seeing ourselves
as others see us, and the 'targets' of Bingham's pen sooner or later, became stalwart fans. (and in some cases clients)
So, caricature art became at once a none too subtle act of diplomatic retaliation,and a means to reap the spoils.
Bingham went on to draw crowds for Macy's, Ives St. Laurent Perfumes, White Plains Mall in NY, RCA and lots and lots of regular type folk at malls, parties, bar mitzvahs, anniversaries, children's hospitals and more. After a 12 year hiatus back in the military (CAN'T keep her away from firearms) and a successful stint decorating spaces (visit www.bfresco.com to see some classic decorative art).. she's back - and as mean as ever.
